Moving Brynn's mill

rsoh001.jpg
The mill was shipped in a big
box.
rsoh002.jpg
The truck wouldn't line up
square with the step. So we
decided to make a wedge
shaped ramp.
rsoh005.jpg
The addition of some 2x4s and
plywood and we have a ramp.
rsoh003.jpg
Brynn cut some carpet to
protect the floor. You may
notice that it was REAL cold
that day.
rsoh004.jpg
With some coaxing we got the
mill out of the truck and
into the kitchen.
rsoh006.jpg
If you knock out the end of
the box you can get to the
frame of the mill.
rsoh007.jpg
Jeff screwed down plywood
to the stairs for the mill to
slide on.
rsoh008.jpg
Brynn is connecting some
straps to the frame of the
mill.
rsoh009.jpg
That can't possibly work. We
had a rope under the door
tied to the truck. Then a
block and tackle. It is tied
to the straps on the mill.
rsoh010.jpg
Ready to push down the stairs.

It is probably good we don't have pictures of this part... The mill wouldn't clear the plywood on the stairs. So I (Jeff) laid on the floor, my back against the door, and I pressed as hard as I could against the mill. Brynn proceeded to rock the mill violently back and forth so it would hop over the edge of the plywood. It started to go and Brynn grabbed the rope...

rsoh011.jpg
Look out! There is goes!
rsoh012.jpg
Whoosh...
rsoh013.jpg
It is at the bottom and no
one got killed.
rsoh014.jpg
How do you get in the
basement? Someone left a mill
in the way.
rsoh015.jpg
Oh, you climb over it.
rsoh016.jpg
It is in the basement. You
can see the stairway in the
background.
rsoh017.jpg
The top is off and we can see
the mill.
rsoh018.jpg
Out of the box.
rsoh019.jpg
It had this shipping damage.
But it was just a sheet metal
cover.
